I made sweet tea and drank it over an enormous amount of ice, on the stoop, marveling at how sometimes sweet tea is the best tea, even if you usually drink tea straight, no sugar, with not even a lemon to counter the tannins. Sweet tea is reckless tea, unhealthy tea, a liquid candy bar, not something to drink every day. But it has its place, and I made enough of it so I could use the leftovers as a brine for Millie Peartree’s luscious roast chicken (above). Combine the tea with a big handful of Cajun seasoning and marinate chicken legs in it all day. Baste with the juices and serve with baked sweet potatoes, oh my.

CNN —Cocoa prices are surging so high, the Easter Bunny might want to hoard its chocolate. Poor climate and crop diseases in West Africa – home to 70% of global cocoa production – have tightened supply and caused prices to skyrocket. As prices rise, some chocolatiers are exploring cost-cutting alternatives, like diversifying their products to depend less on cocoa. Yet mining often destroys farms and the possibility of a livelihood in cocoa production, Issaka said. “Given the persistently high cocoa prices, it may be necessary for us to make responsible adjustments to pricing in the future,” the spokesperson wrote in an email.

Ronna McDaniel wants to be paid for her two-year contract after she was axed as a NBC News contributor, per Politico. McDaniel made an appearance on "Meet the Press" this past Sunday and was let go on Tuesday. It means that McDaniel's interview with moderator Kristen Welker could cost NBC News about $30,000 per minute. Todd on Sunday told Welker during the "Meet the Press" taping that top network leaders needed to apologize to her. (Welker affirmed that the interview was scheduled before McDaniel had been brought on by the network.)
